NEWSLETTER – APRIL 26-30
RELIGION – We will work on mission, obedience, and covenant.
READING – We’ll read Good-bye 382 Shin Dang Dong. We will not have a reading test this week.
ENGLISH – We’ll work on adjectives, poetry, and adverbs.
SPELLING – Our new words are: tree, course, front, American, and space. We’ll work on spelling Surprise Words that don’t follow the rules and words with the vowel sound in ball. Homework is due on Thursday.
MATH – We will work on problem solving using probability, and we’ll begin fractions.
SCIENCE – We will begin our study of Simple Machines with motion, gravity, and work.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will study other cultures and their celebrations. We’ll also learn about the Kentucky Derby.
· We will finish testing on Thursday or sooner. The students have worked hard and everything is going smoothly.
· The students may wear a decorated hat for the Derby on Friday.

NEWSLETTER – APRIL 19-23
RELIGION – We will continue to study the Sacraments of Holy Orders and Matrimony.
READING – We will read How My Family Lives in America. We won’t have a test.
ENGLISH – We will continue to study adjectives.
SPELLING – The new words are: ground, cold, really, table, and remember. We will also study consonant blends and homophones. Homework is due on Thursday.
MATH – We will study different graphs and begin probability. We will also continue to practice division.
SCIENCE – We will study food chains and Earth Day.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will study different cultures and their celebrations.
· Testing begins on Monday. According to the manual we should try to keep things as normal as possible especially bedtime and breakfast habits. Students should also be aware of why we test. They should always try their best, but they should not feel pressured. These tests do not affect their school grades. They help us identify areas of strengths and weaknesses.
· Testing is from 8:45-10:15 everyday.
· Field trip permission slips were sent home last week.
