RELIGION – We will continue to work on how the Church is one. We will work the Chapter Review this week.
READING – We’ll read What About Me? Student should study vocabulary for this story. We’ll also work on author’s purpose. The Selection Test is on Friday.
ENGLISH – Subject/Predicate in sentences will be studied. DOL (Daily Oral Language) is completed everyday in class. Students will bring home quizzes every 1-2 weeks. Watch for these.
SPELLING – The new words are: below, saw, something, thought, and both. Please check the notebook and last weeks test for extra words that need studying. We will also study words with long vowel sounds and spelling irregular plurals. Homework is due on Thursday. The test is on Friday.
MATH – We will work on 1000’s, comparing numbers and rounding 4 digit numbers. Students need to study the addition and subtraction math facts. We review these each day. The better they know these, the easier later work will be for them. Homework will be assigned each day.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will continue to review the continents and oceans. We’ll also study the hemispheres, equator, and prime meridian. We’ll make globe models. There will be a continent quiz on Friday. Students should be able to label the 7 continents and 4 oceans correctly. One point will be deducted for each misspelled word.
SCIENCE – We will study the earth’s layers and begin our study of rocks and their formation. We’ll use the terms igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.
