WELCOME TO GRADE 3
ROOM 33
MRS. FRANKS

WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE – I’m Mrs. Franks, and I will be your child’s homeroom teacher. This is my 24th year at St. Henry School. I have also taught grades 4, 6, and 7. I am looking forward to working with you and your child.

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - Each Monday a newsletter will be sent giving you and your child an idea of the lessons we will be studying during the week. It will also give advance notice on projects and tests. Please keep this for the week.

DISCIPLINE – Students are expected to follow school and classroom rules. Failure to do so may result in loss of recess, written assignments, discipline academies (practicing desired behavior), or a note or call to the parents.

HOMEWORK – Homework will be written on the board each day. The student is responsible for writing down the assignments, completing them at home, and bringing any written work back to school. A parent or responsible caregiver needs to sign the assignment pad nightly. If an assignment is missing a slip will be stapled in the homework pad. This should be signed and work returned on the next day. Missing homework assignments may result in loss of recess and lower grades.

GRADES - Graded work will be sent home with the students. A C-R on the paper means the student needs to correct the work, have it signed, and return it to school. Mostly all assignments, class work, and tests are weighted evenly. Ten points will be deducted from late assignments. If the assignment is not completed satisfactorily, in an acceptable time, a lower grade will be given. Grades will be posted on the SRS Program on-line. Please let me know if you do not have access.

COMMUNICATION – Please feel free to contact me at any time by email, sending a note, or phoning school. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

WATER BOTTLES – Students will be permitted to have a water bottle in the classroom. It must contain only water. The bottle should have a pull cap to avoid spillage. An old sock around the bottle will help with condensation. The child’s name should be written on the bottle with permanent marker. If the bottle becomes a distraction, the privilege will be revoked.
